About the Photographer

Mike Fuhr is a conservationist and photographer. He has spent more than 25 years working in conservation focusing on freshwater, prairie, and forest conservation. His work and love of travel have taken him to amazing places across North America, South America, and the Caribbean. His approach to photography entails finding the artistry of nature and capturing it in a unique image that aims to inspire others to connect with the natural world.

He started photographing nature when he was about 12 years old when his uncle loaned him a 35mm SLR film camera and a 200mm telphoto lens. He was hooked when he started to capture photos of wading birds, like the snowy egret, on a family trip to Florida. He has long since converted to digital photography using a DSLR and a variety of lenses.

Mike currently resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he explores some of the more wild places in the state, seeking nature photos that inspire him.
